Gasherbrum (Pvt) ltd was registered under the Companies Ordinance1984 in 2016 as an entertainment oriented company.
In the first phase Gasherbrum acquired the Radio licences of FM99 Gilgit , FM99 Skardu & FM 90.4 Attock .
The aforesaid stations being the first privately licenced radio stations in the regions have received an overwhelming response. The stations have tremendously contributed to the betterment of the areas in terms of job opportunities , awareness & economic development of the local community

The territory of present-day Gilgit-Baltistan became a separate administrative unit in 1970 under the name “Northern Areas”. It was formed by the amalgamation of the former Gilgit Agency, the Baltistan District of the Ladakh Wazarat, and the hill states of Hunza and Nagar. It presently consists of nine districts, has a population exceeding 1.5 million scattered over an area of approximately 28,000 square miles (73,000 km2). Sharing borders with China, Afghanistan, and India the region is fast emerging as a hub of trade , commerce & tourism.FM-99 Gilgit & Skardu are the first privately licensed and independent radio stations in in the area operational since 2010. Besides on air transmission in Gilgit Baltistan, FM-99 is heard all over the world through internet live streaming .It is not only a source of entertainment but also a fast and reliable medium of information in Gilgit –Baltistan.
